The Ocean Dream project: Crossing the Atlantic from Mallorca against cancer

During the 36 Copa del Rey MAPFRE, we were introduced to a contest of a different kind: that of a group of brave women against cancer. We had the great fortune of being able to learn about the impressive Ocean Dream project. This is an initiative of a group of women who have overcome this disease, and who are getting ready to set off on a more agreeable journey: they are going to cross the Atlantic in support of research and the development of new treatments against this terrible disease.

At the different stages, the crew will consist of five women who have battled cancer and who have been given the all-clear or are in remission, as well as the owner of the boat, who also knows what it is to suffer and overcome this disease. Natalia Enseñat, Belén Camps and Mónica García make up part of the brave and caring Ocean Dream crew and they are waiting for two more women who have won the battle against cancer or are in the remission stage to join up.

In November they will set sail from Mallorca on board the Sargantal and in December they will reach the coast of Martinique, after making two stops in Lanzarote and Cape Verde. Each of the miles travelled will be put up for sale to supporters of the project (businesses and individuals) at a price of 10 euro through a crowd-funding campaign.
