The Oris Rally Clásico has once again been contested in Puerto Portals. Famous within the automobile world and recognized around the world, the Oris Rally Clásico is known as much for its participant numbers as for their quality.
Mallorca Sotheby’s International Realty stayed close throughout the three days of the competition and enjoyed the suspense of the three thrilling stages to see who finished as the leader at the end of the thirteen timed sections.
The rally, also known as “the pearl of the Mediterranean”, had many winners in its various categories. In the Regularity category, brothers Jaime and Enrique Carbonell maintained their leader position throughout the three days in their 1981 Volkswagen Golf GTI. In the Velocity category, there was victory for the German Stefan Oberdoester and his copilot Olaf Heupel in their 1972 Porsche 911 RSR. The Sheldon couple, who have taken part for twelve consecutive years, were first-place winners in the Pre-70 category with their 1965 Lotus Elan.
The drivers and their cars travelled in excess of 500 kilometers on roads closed to traffic during the three days of the competition.
It was a thrilling event which we were able to enjoy first-hand in a fantastic atmosphere of sporting, leisure and glamour.
