In the 3rd edition of the Rafa Nadal Sports Centre Urban Race by Mallorca Sotheby’s, €10,000 has been raised for those affected in the Mallorcan Llevant floods.

The 3rd humanitarian marathon took place at the Rafa Nadal Sport Centre on 26 December 2018. It was a spectacular day, from the first hour in the morning until the end of the race. The mood was great, enlivened by music, as the 600 participants prepared themselves to get a good jump off the starting line.

This year the €10,000 euros raised were earmarked to help the individuals most affected by the Sant Llorenç floods that devastated the area on 9 October. The inscriptions alone amounted to 10,000 euros, without counting the anonymous donations.

Two adult categories suitable for everyone, with no technical difficulties, were run through the centre of Manacor: 6 km and 11 km.

Everyone gathered together the end of the last marathon to enjoy a delicious Mallorcan-style breakfast of an ensaimada (typical sweet pastry) and hot chocolate. The awards were handed out at that time, beginning with the children, who had thoroughly enjoyed the different categories of the now famous Urban Race - Kids.

Awards were then given out to the adults, leading off with the winners of the 11-km run. In that category, the 1st place for men went to Miguel Manuel Campos and the women’s gold was carried off by Marga Fullana Riera. As for the 6-km route, Aziz Boutil won the men’s race and Stephi Flores was victorious in the women’s.

For the third straight year, the event was a complete success. All of us at Mallorca Sotheby’s International Realty are once again very proud to have participated in this humanitarian sports race.
