Olazábal & Nadal Invitational: a charity event with international golfers and prominent chefs at Pula Golf Resort

For another year, Mallorca Sotheby’s International Realty has decided to support tennis player Rafa Nadal and golfer José María Olazábal at the fifth edition of the Olazábal & Nadal Invitational golf tournament by Pula Golf Resort, played on the 24th and the 25th of November in Son Servera.

For the third year in a row, Rafael Nadal’s team received a score of -175 against the team lead by José María Olazábal, with a score of 140 below par.

This tournament is a charity event in which we have always wanted to be involved and whose funds are given to Sport Mundi and the Rafael Nadal Foundation (La Fundación Rafael Nadal). All of the money raised from this event will go towards ACNUR and their efforts with the refugees and the Más que Tenis(More than Tennis) Project, aimed towards young people with mental disabilities with 18 school across all of Spain

Amongst the professional players attending the event were Álvaro Quirós, Adrián Otaegui, Nacho Elvira, Jesús Legarrea, Emanuele Canónica, Benoit Tellería, Eduardo de la Riva, Lorenzo Gagli, and Santi Luna.

The 2 Michelin Star-chef, Frank Rosin, was also present and showed his culinary skills alongside those of Macarena de Castro, Luis Veira, (each with 1 Michelin Star) and Santi Taura. Their creations were tasted over the course of the tournament in the new restaurant designed by Estudio Aaprile, S’Era de Pula, which opened its doors on Thursday the 23th, with appearances made by the two athletes hosting the tournament.

In the four previous editions, a total of 500,000 euros were raised which were given to social projects, such as the one carried out in the Rafael Nadal Foundation Centre in Palma de Mallorca, where they implement an educational project that complements the primary education of the youth who live in disadvantaged circumstances; to school meal aids for marginalised families; to accommodation centres through Caritas; and to initiatives against human trafficking which Ayuda en Acción is taking in Nepal.

We are very glad to have been part of this and to support such a significant project.
