What does Mallorca do to keep the island green?

Several organisations in Mallorca are making a big effort for sustainability. CaixaBank for example, has implemented a plan with the goal of having 100% of its electricity consumption come from renewable energy by 2018. Hidrobal, a company that manages water-related processes, now uses an innovative leak detection system in networks of drinking water that saves millions of litres of water. In addition, the local councils are very active throughout the year and many activities for schoolchildren are organised related to the environment.

These great efforts keep the island beautiful in the long run and, with the effort of each individual, ensure that it will remain a fantastic destination to live.
